Retarded Republicans

Posted on20 Nov 2009

WOO HOO!!! Republicans should be SOOO proud of themselves, they have everything figured out.  If we are “Real” Americans and listen to all of their warning regarding everything from health care to Islamic terrorists the US will be a much safer place to be.  To bad old Bushy isn’t still in office, we really had it made back then - I was such a proud American

Depicts 83,000 Abu Ghraib prisoner photographs, equal to the number of people who have been arrested and held at US-run detention facilities with no trial or other due process of law, during the Bush Administration’s war on terror. (http://www.chrisjordan.com)

Somebody PLEASE tell me what the hell is going on with Republicans these days.   Are these people really oblivious to the idiocy spewing from the mouths of the Republican politicians and media or (more likely) are they really painfully aware of how moronic they sound but are way to embarrassed to admit it.   After the shooting at Fort Hood by a Muslim I came across so many disturbing posts from right wingers out there that I actually started to worry and wonder how many of them are there?  I honestly believe that the acts of a lone deranged gunman should not give permission for a descent into anti-Muslim hysteria.  Can you imagine what it would be like If we all started following their flawed logic?

Their way of thinking - all muslims are terrorist and shouldn’t be allowed in the military and are trying to take over the world, blah, blah, blah - I had no idea how much hate there was towards Muslims until I googled “anti-muslim” and came across a whole slew of hate filled ranting.  What a bunch of f—ing hypocrites - they contradict themselves at every turn talking about every horrible thing that a Muslim does and is while at the same time being a horrible, hating, threatening human.  Here are a couple of quotes as an example:

Even though I’m not Muslim I can seriously understand were some of their frustration comes from.  A quote from a forum (http://boards.fool.com/Message.asp?mid=28086153&sort=postdate)  I read this morning :

“America has invaded two Muslim countries and killed hundreds of thousands of Muslims. We have displaced millions. Many of those killed were innocent bystanders, the inevitable result of any war. Some were brutalized because they were Muslims: rounded up in “hostile” villages (hostile to invading forces, imagine that?), thrown in jail, tortured, then later released without charges.

And yet our American general can spew his Christian extremism, inciting more Christians to rally against Islam (a religion he compared to “Satan”) and nothing. No talk of “connecting the dots”. No talk of Christian cells within the US Army. How can it be a cell when it’s so mainstream? Little attempt within America to understand how our actions incite so much backlash, especially among Muslims. America cannot connect those dots, because the conclusions are too terrible. It would call into question our definition of terrorism (something others do to us). Perhaps even lead to prosecutions of American soldiers and war leaders. How does that fit with our good guy (America) versus bad guy (radical Islam) theme that plays out every day on our TV screens?

Killing unarmed bystanders in our “War on Terror” is a crime, so long as you are a Muslim. Dropping bombs on wedding parties, or on entire families, happens regularly. Torturing unarmed Muslims, shooting Muslim men during village raids (where we Americans raid their villages), cannot be avoided. These are regrettable incidents (collateral damage) that warrant a sentence or two in a news article. Nothing more. Even though hundreds of thousands have been killed.A Muslim killing innocent Americans in the US is a terrible tragedy. Americans dropping bombs on innocent Muslims (shock and awe!) is a war strategy.” -”JoeChristmas”

My point in all of this  mumbling is to say  that just because one person does something it doesn’t mean that everyone in that race, religion, sex is destined to do the same.   Why would anyone want to hate all Muslims because a few idiots act irrationally.   There’s crazy psychotic nutcases in every religion, of every race - I’ll tell you who I’m scared of - The Republican party - anyone who tries to bring a whole nation together for the sole purposes of hating one group of people under the guise of public safety, is sick and terrifying, my kids are Muslim and I’d like to personally knock out every single dumb ass, unintelligent, dim-witted, backwoods, red-neck republican who blabbers on and on and on and on and on . . . . . . .

I agree with you, their behavior and “jump-to-conclusions” approach is erroneous.
It is important to understand that it is a normal psychological self-defense mechanism to alienate what is different, what is unknown. For what is unknown is a potential threat to the ego.
Yet, a healthy ego is the one that is so secure, it is not affected from what happens outside. For other’s beliefs cannot alter the true self of one’s ego, his identity.
People must try to evolve throughout their lives, and manage to move away from the primitive reactions that we all have. We must evolve from fear (seeing all that is different as dangerous) to compassion (seeing what we all have in common: we all are humans with feelings and insecurities).
I understand that everyone is not at the same state of evolution. I can understand and relate to the right-wingers and the extremists as well. It’s their perception, their believes. And yet I do not share their believes, I will still give them the right to have such believes and voice them, even if it hurts me to hear them. For that is how compassion and understanding begins. (Accepting a perception does not mean that it is a good and truthful one. A perception is right only when the hoped outcome does not bring negative results. Thus, the compassion approach brings peace and understanding, worthy to be defended.)
I draw the line when their ideas become actions, for actions born from such extreme ideas, can only have negative results: violence, more fear, oppression, and yet more violence. That is not the type of world I wish to live in.
I don’t understand why political people are voicing such ideas, and suggesting actions we should take for “salvation”. That is a projective approach, and can only lead to hysteria of the masses. The History of mankind has many incidents where mass hysteria took over, and those moments of our history are probably some of the most shameful. Not only shameful for mankind in general, but for the perpetrators as well (WWII, Rwanda are very good examples)
The only way to avoid mass hysteria is not to feed it in return, for that is how it grows. Republicans (some of them, for putting them all in the same basket is wrong) are acting in this fashion out of fear. Needing to defend themselves from a threat they cannot perceive. Left-Wingers should understand the irrational fear of the Right-Wing (all fears are irrational to begin with) and not increase their insecurity by attacking their egos, for that will only lead them to more drastic, irrational movements and decisions, based on fear. (I am not talking about the politicians, for they always have another agenda. I’m talking about our fellow citizens: Our neighbors, for they are the true masses.)
These topics are so complex to talk about… I truly believe that the only way of bringing them up is to ALWAYS keep in mind that we are talking to other humans. Humans like us, who are not perfect either, but deep inside have good intentions, but perhaps take the wrong actions to deal with them. We all want the same thing: Provide a peaceful and safe environment for ourselves and our loved ones to evolve in. We just wish to take different roads to achieve the same destination. Our arguments should be targeted towards the “choice of roads” and not towards the “intention”, and NEVER towards the individual who voices them.
Our debates on the topic should be fought from the heart, and one day we will have Peace.
Congrats towards another well written entry, one that makes all of us think…

mc - Thank you for such a perceptive, well written comment it ads a lot to the post.
You are right on a lot of points. I am not democrat , republican or muslim I just can’t to see a whole group of people thrown in one category because of something a few do. It would be like saying because Bush was a complete idiot, all white christians are idiots.

Does this apply to republicans too? Just asking since you’ve lumped all of them together.

  4. It really comes down to using fear to control the masses, both sides have done it. Republicans used it to stay in power for 8 years and the fear of the economic disaster helped democrat gain office.

I would like to think that most Americans don’t hate ALL muslims. Just as I know that not all Muslims hate Americans. It’s only those that bray the loudest that get heard.

  5. Your story sucks, to put it bluntly. Whether you liked him or not hings WERE better while Bush was in office. Obama has created more debt for the country than all other presidents combined. The housing crisis can be blamed squarely upon the shoulders of the democrats in the senate and congress who regulated fannie mae, urging - more like forcing them to give home loans to those who couldn’t afford them. A few terrorist were forced to take humiliating pictures and you’re crying like a baby? Give me a break! How about you pull your head out and complain about terrorists who are chopping of heads of innocent reporter, tourists and civilians. It must be nice living in that fantasy land you live in, tell santa clause hi for me next time you see him. haha how is all the hope and change working out for you? obamas no different than any other crooked dirty politician. He already broke so many promises he made just in his first year. The administration of transparency? Give me a break. where is this so called web site he promised to have up where we could look at every bill, paper and file that was being passed? still working on it huh? He said he wasnt going to have any lobbyists, broke that promise. Said unemployment was going to peak at 8% if we passed the stimulus bill immediately. Unemployment is already at 15% and thats a conservative number. I could go on but im tired and hungy so im going to go make some food. anyways grow up tinkerbell, you’ve been fooled. http://www.thedailyzing.com

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
    can’t . . . . . . . . . . . . . . stop . . . . .. . . . . . . laughing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10 hours later - I’m now going to get into a pissing contest with you. This post is obviously about what is happening with the anti-muslim sentiment that is flourishing in this country right now because of all the religious nutters out there. If you read more than the first couple sentences you would understand that.

    P.S. Muslims don’t celebrate Christmas

  7. Great piece. You tell it like it is, girlfriend. I think we were separated at birth. Saw you stopped by my blog and thought I’d return the favor. I like what I see and am going to add you to the blogs I follow. Now I think I’ll go look around some more.
