How are we supposed to know how a perfume smells, if all we can see is a bottle and a name? And it's not like the names are descriptive of the scent... Victoria's Secret just came out with a line of fragrances called Silk, Satin, Cashmere and the like. I can understand that they're trying to evoke these feelings in scent, but I have no idea what those would smell like. Most perfumes are a complex mix of many individual scents... so it's near impossible to describe them, you have to smell them for yourself. Good post, and agreed.
